Jannette collects ghostly tales, vampire stories, folklore, and deep-rooted legends from the South and the Appalachians, sharing them with others. Her books stand out from those of other writers because she actually visits the locations where the stories originated. “I walk the long-gone ghost town streets where those who told the stories once walked,” she explains. “I discover abandoned cemeteries and slog through muddy swamps to find the old homes or cabins where the ghosts once lived, loved, or died. This allows me to get a feel for the terrain and the people who lived there and passed along the stories or legends. It enriches the narrative and adds credibility while giving my readers insight into the traditions and lives of those who shared these tales.”
